Abstract

Metastatic testicular germ cell tumors with complete involution of the primary site (i.e. burned-out tumor) are rare entities. In this study, we report a case of testicular germ cell tumor with inguinal lymph node metastasis. A 52-year-old man was admitted to hospital with swelling in his left inguinal area. Lymph node biopsy from the left inguinal area revealed seminoma metastasis. On physical examination a stony hard nodule was discovered in the left testis and radiological imaging demonstrated multiple paraaortic and inguinal lymph nodes. Subsequently, he underwent left radical orchiectomy. Histological examination demonstrated fibrous scar without any tumor formation. In conclusion, testicular regressed germ cell tumor should be suspected when a metastatic lymph node is detected.
